Results of the clinical and instrumental examination of patients with maxillary sinus cysts

Chronic sinusitis (CS) is a common disease in otolaryngology. Cysts of the paranasal sinuses (CPS) play an important role in the structure of the CNS. According to foreign sources, chronic maxillary sinus cysts accounted for approximately 24% of hospitalized patients in 2021. This data corresponds to data from world literature. It is known that most maxillary sinus cysts are asymptomatic, and in almost 80% of cases they are radiographic findings.[2] The etiology of chronic maxillary sinus cysts is unclear: they may be associated with allergic and other inflammatory processes of the mucous membrane of the PNS, trauma, periapical and periodontal infections, and even changes in relative humidity and room temperature [4].
