Abstract

Replacing natural feeding with artificial leads to a very common pathology of the maxillofacial region in the
form of a violation of the formation of the dentoalveolar system, the absence of three and subsequent crowded teething,
which disrupts the aesthetic appearance and affects the digestive system and nutritional status of the child. Our goal is
to improve the prevention of major dental diseases in formula-fed children. We carried out a dental examination of 124
children aged 3 to 7 years at 50, 51, 52, 61 preschool educational institutions in Bukhara. Parental consent was obtained
for the examination of children. All examined children were divided into 2 groups depending on the nature of feeding in
the first year of life: group I - 54 children who were breastfed from birth for 6 months or more, group II - 70 children who
were artificially fed. In the course of this study, according to the questionnaire, it was found that 88% of the children in
the study group were breastfed from the moment of birth, but were transferred to artificial nutrition after the age of 6
months. Of these, 26% of children were breastfed for no more than 2 months. 43% of children were transferred to artificial
feeding at the age of 3-6 months, 13% at the age of 6 months. Formula-fed children are at risk for the development of
dental diseases that can and should be prevented. The ratio of complicated to uncomplicated caries in such children is
1:3, that is, we have to depulpation every fourth tooth. It is important to systematically competently carry out sanitary
and educational work among pregnant women, explaining to them the need for natural feeding of the child
