Optimizing the diagnosis of diseases of nose and paranasal cavities in out-of-hospital pneumonia

Inflammatory diseases of the nose and paranasal cavities are observed in many cases in patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). However, due to the predominance of symptoms of lower respiratory tract (LRT) diseases, the symptoms of upper respiratory tract (URT) diseases are neglected. For this reason, the development of pneumonia outside the hospital, the diseases of the nose and paranasal cavities, which are important in the clinical course, are not diagnosed in time. In order to diagnose diseases of the nose and paranasal cavities in patients with pneumonia outside the hospital, anamnesis data, nasal endoscopy and 3D radiography of the nasal paranasal cavities were conducted. Taking into account the interrelationship of the upper and lower respiratory tract, measures for effective early diagnosis of patients according to severity levels of community-acquired pneumonia and rhinosinusitis have been developed.
